A Time of Great Change

Dear Friends,
2020 has been a year of unprecedented challenges and opportunities to make significant changes in the way we do business, the way we worship, and the way we relate to one another. What is important to us? What do we want to release? What do we need to change in order to experience less anxiety and a greater level of inner peace?

Recently, at Unity of San Luis Obispo, we have made a most meaningful change within our ministry. In response to changing times and a growing population in search of more progressive ways to practice spirituality, we sold our building at 1130 Orcutt Road, which was a difficult but necessary decision. We made the choice to release the building in order to save the ministry. Now we have the resources to support our work for years to come and focus our energy on establishing a virtual ministry that will be available to people around the world. We will continue to emphasize personal empowerment, human rights, and nonviolent social action. We will celebrate every Sunday morning on Facebook Live and have our services available on our brand-new website.

I’m so grateful to Friends of Ministry for creating this beautiful website, which provides both information and inspiration for those who choose to know more about our philosophy and the services we offer.

On these pages, you will find information on Unity’s core beliefs, our statement of inclusion and social action, and a brief history of the Unity movement. You will also be able to watch our archived Sunday services, listen to the Get Off Your Affirmation podcast, read the Daily Word, and make prayer requests. You may also contact us through our website, by phone/text, email, or at our P.O. box. We look forward to hearing from you!

As the weeks go by, we will add additional activities to our calendar. Beginning in January, you will be able to join us on Zoom for our weekly Circle of Prayer and participate in a brand-new book club designed to stimulate our minds and inspire positive action. We look forward to hosting workshops, seminars, and fascinating guest speakers as well.

For now, we will focus on celebrating Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and our special New Year services. I look forward to participating in our next level of ministry with you!

Blessings of Love,
Leona
