Dear Friends,
On Sunday, January 17, 2021 we will be celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This day commemorates the birth of one of the greatest Civil Rights leaders and proponents of nonviolent activism in history.
Without a doubt, this year’s celebration will take on added significance because of the horrific acts of violence and insurrection which took place on January 6 at our nation’s capitol. After witnessing death and property destruction, we realize now more than ever the need for nonviolent action in our lives and in our world.
Two of my favorite of Dr. King’s quotes are these:
“Darkness cannot drive our darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
In light of these most important ideas, I would like to share with you a three-week workshop that my son, Matthew J. Evans and I will be facilitating online for Unity Worldwide ministries on the most relevant aspects of nonviolent action. I invite you to join us for an enlightening and powerful experience.
